WE JUST TRAVELED 3600 MILES WITH 4 ADULTS AND TWO CHILDREN - WE COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT WITHOUT THIS CARRIER. IT HAS BEEN TOUGH, AND IT LOCKS ! WE PLACED ONLY OUR ITEMS NOT SO NECESSARY INTO THE CARRIER SO WE DIDNT HAVE TO GET WHAT WE NEEDED IMMEDIATELY OUT OF THE TOP OF THE VAN. WHEN YOU TRAVEL WITH THAT MANY PEOPLE IN THE SAME VEHICLE - YOU NEED THE ROOM AND THE SECURITY. WE NOTICED SEVERAL OTHER CARRIERS OF THE SAME SIZE AND SHAPE, AND SEVERAL WERE THE SAME BRAND AS OURS, I DO SUPPOSE IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE NOMINAL PRICE. EVEN IF IT HAD NOT HELD UP SO Excellent, WE COULD AFFORD TO GET ANOTHER ONE FOR THE NEXT TRIP ! BUT IT WILL TRAVEL AGAIN !
OUR ONLY COMPLAINT WAS WE ARE Small, AND OUR VAN IS TALL AND IT WAS VERY Hard TO GET INTO AND OUT OF, BUT WE DID DO OK ! I'D LIKE TO SEE A BRACE TO HOLD IT OPEN FOR LOADING AND UNLOADING?

Drove from Upstate South Carolina to Panama City Florida on top of a Toyota Highlander. No problems at all. The installation can be done by one person and no tools, but can be done in half the time of course with two people. Feels a small flimsy but once installed becomes more sturdy. Only felt it in high winds and remained dry inside after going through some heavy rain. Couldn't tell if it had any affect overall on gas milege. It held more than I thought it would, so I was pleased with the capacity. I had two huge suitcases, 2 small suitcases, a football chair, two beach chairs, makeup kit (for the wife), and two backpacks. Someone gave us a boogy board for the trip home, it fit as well. Very pleased with it, can't wait to use it for camping and beach trips.

We bought this for a road trip with our family of 7. The SportRack fit a large suitcase and about 5 other bags and some random items like a foldable highchair. It did not make any noise at all when we drove and we drove through rain nearly every day of our trip and we did not have any leakage issues. Do not know how we could have made the trip without it because we filled it up!!!I highly reccommend this.

Fantastic product, lots of room for 4 sets of golf clubs or lots of luggage. Had distress adapting it to both vehicles though. Had to take vehicles back to dealer to go racks on autos & had to drill new holes to fit. Web site was not available for 2008 or 2009 vehicles yet to check for fit before purchasing. One of the bolts was stripped already when putting on autos for the first time. Customer service was excellent. They overnighted a new one. Unable to get extra keys made at any locksmith. Need a special blank key from manufacturer?? Still would recommend. Excellent construction & product.
