I only recently bought the cartop carrier, and have not yet used it. I did but attempt to place it together. It was a challenge, and required the help of my neighbor. It is very spacious, and I am optimistic that it will serve my purpose.

We really like this cargo carrier. It beyond doubt takes 2 people to assemble, and it is a bit wobbly and flexible. Those points are simple to deal with. The benefits are that we fit 3 large suitcases and 3 backpacks into it for our trip, with more room for loose items. No wind noise, no leaking. All those pods you see that sit on one side of the car and look like they hold skis or a set of golf clubs--this isn't that. It takes up the width of the car. We're so pleased with this buy.

Es un gran producto, de un material resistente y fácil de operar. Ya probé en un par de viajes a velocidades por encima de 120 km/h y la verdad pareciera que no tenía nada sobre el techo del carro. No le entra el agua, y no genera ningún ruido. El espacio es gigante y le entran muchas cosas; en mi caso particular: coche del bebe, juguetes, pelotas, etc, etc.

No le doy las 5 estrellas simplemente porque no es fácil de armar, definitivamente hay que meterse al portaequipaje, cerrarlo y finalmente ajustar la tornillería. Imposible hacerlo solo, se necesita ayudante!!

Es una solución ideal, a un precio increible que cumple con la descripción de sus funciones. Recomendable 100%

I bought the sport rack to use as a body for a trailer I am building to tow behind my motercycle. Once bolted to the fram it is rock solid. I selected this rack to use because it is lite weight, water-resistant , slick and not only easer than building one form scratch but cheaper too. Putting it together is a two person job but as I only plot to place it together I don't see this as being a problem.

The price is fantastic but when you figure in life energy required to place this beast together I wish I would have just spent the extra money to get a preassembled carrier or gone the cheaper route for a soft carrier. It takes 2-3 people to place this together. In fact I had to crawl inside (very coffin-like) to hold the top/bottom together while my dad tightend the screws and my mom held the lid up. Once together, it is hard to attach to the roof, another bout on the inside of the box while my dad pushed the u-bolts up through the bottom. I will say though, that all my stuff stayed dry. Now at the end of the journey it helps to have someone help you take the carrier off. I didn't and I was crawling around on the roof of my van to push out the bolts. Then I had to slide the box along the rails and off the side where I had to catch the box before it hit the ground. This is not a box for a single person to manage! I will be donating the carrier to charity because it is too hard to manage. All in all I should have just saved the money and bought a soft carrier (simple to attach and get off the roof) and packed my stuff in plastic bags to keep it dry inside the bag.
